Starting somewhere

I’ve been wanting to write again.

While I was updating my sketchbook pages here, I found my New Years goals for 2026. I’m currently writing this entry in mid-August and am proud to say I’ve checked off many tasks from my list. Keep sketching without pencils. Be more comfortable using color in my sketchbook. Paint with oils. Paint large scale. Paint outside. Go to more gallery shows, go to an art club meetup. More teaching, host a workshop.

About a year ago, I had a tarot reading. The main takeaway was to focus on giving and to continue sharing my gifts with those around me. That reading and the conversation that followed have been ringing in my ears ever since. For the past year, I’ve been exploring what it means to share my skill and artistic abilities. I’ve been taking more chances and giving myself allowance to see me differently. I’ve unexpectedly fallen in love with teaching. Hosting workshops and private art lessons have opened the doors for me to become a schoolteacher. I’ve been wanting to write again because it’s been a while. It’s been a while since I’ve had to lead anything. It’s been a while since I’ve gotten to present in front of an audience. It’s been a while since I’ve gotten to share my ideas and knowledge with others.

I don’t really know what this is. I don’t know how often I’ll write here. I hate the word “blogging.” So this will be my journal, another space for me to share.

If no one reads this, that’s actually fine. Maybe even ideal.
But if you are reading this: hello. You found me. I’ve been wanting to write again, so here I am writing again.
